Yvonne Stevens Kimball

Yvonne Stevens Kimball, 91, of Hammond, Louisiana, passed away peacefully at her home on October 30,2025.

She was married to Louis Ronald "Ron" Kimball of Springfield, Louisiana for 60 years. She worked as an Accountant and in the Banking Industries throughout her lifetime. She proudly devoted herself to and helped in raising her grandson, Taylor Underwood, especially while his mother attended nursing school. Her love of LSU sports was a highlight of her life, particularly LSU baseball, which she followed with a passion, always keeping track of statistics as the games unfolded. She first fell in love with baseball as a small child, attending games with her grandfather William R. Stevens, Sr. of Ponchatoula. She also had a passion for music. She played in the Ponchatoula High School band. Years later she joined The Baton Rouge Chapter of the Sweet Adelines and sang with them for many years. Initially she sang lead but fell in love with the bass part and switched.

She is survived by her brothers Richard E. Stevens of Woodstock, Georgia and William "Sandy" Stevens of West Monroe, daughters Pamela Kimball of Chelsea, Alabama, and Lynn K. Underwood of Hammond, son Brian Kimball (Toni) of Baton Rouge, and granddaughter Brittaney Kimball and grandson Taylor Underwood (Allison). She is preceded in death by husband Louis Ronald "Ron" Kimball, and parents William R. "Billy" Stevens, Jr. and Myrtle Eady Stevens.

Following cremation, her ashes will be interred, along with those of her husband Ron, in the Carter Cemetery in Springfield, in a private family ceremony.

Her family wishes to send a special thank you to the Interim Hospice nurses Karol, Brittany, and Leslie for all of their care, support, and kindness. They would also like to send heartful thanks to dear friends Debbie Roth and Kim Roth Crane who assisted in her care in her final months and were always ready to "pass the time" with her over the years.
