William Louis "Bill" Stieglitz, of Loranger, Louisiana, received from the highest chain of command an important mission that only he can fly. Bill got his wings back on Monday, May 8, 2023, at the age of 75 and he is flying that mission right now. He was born on Saturday, August 16, 1947, in Long Island, New York, the son of the late Alex and Pearl Hollenburg Stieglitz. Bill proudly served his country as a member of the Air Force Auxiliary for over 50 years. He attended Florida State University and graduated with a bachelor's degree double major in math and engineering. Bill worked for AT&T as an engineer for over 30 years until he retired.
Bill is survived by his loving wife, Melba Carrier Stieglitz; children, Justin Michael Stieglitz, Jonathan Kier Stieglitz, Noel Christopher Stieglitz, Laura Elizabeth Stieglitz Christesen, and Colin Adam Stieglitz; 9 grandchildren; stepson, Tim Allen and family; sister, Deborah Stieglitz Shell; and numerous nieces and nephews.
