WIlliam Calvin Scott, Jr. "Sonny"

William C. Scott Jr. "Sonny", peacefully passed away on Saturday, December 28th, 2024, at North Oaks Medical Center in Hammond surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Plaquemine, La, to the late Margaret and William Scott Sr. Sonny or "Grey Wolf" treasured his Native American ancestry and traditions who passed that love down to his children and grandchildren. Growing up he was a country boy who enjoyed being outside in nature, fishing, hunting, and was strong in his faith. Sonny was a humble man who never met a stranger and always made new friends wherever he went. He could brighten anybody’s day and would give the shirt off his back to help anyone in need. His attention to detail as a carpenter was unmatched, who made anything from clocks to cabinets. In his later years, he would often be found watching his court shows, on the porch in his rocking chair, walking the property with his grandchildren, or listening to his music whether it was swamp pop, Elvis or Christian music. He never lost his sense of humor, Sonny was always cracking jokes making people laugh, which he passed on to his family. Sonny had a heart of gold, and as his family put it "He was an angel on earth and now he is an angel in heaven". His family was his world and the memories they made will be cherished forever.

He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Dolores Ann Scott; children, William "Calvin" Scott III (Linda), Cissy Scott (Dennis); grandchildren, James L. "Two Foot" Avara, Jr., Crystal "Star" Avara (TJ Williams), Phillip "Lil Phillip" Lemoine, Jr. (Kenia Guevara), Breanna Scott, Isaiah Scott, and Brelin "Bubba" Scott; siblings, Margaret Scott and Lizzy "Boo" Stark; former son-in-law whom he loved dearly, Phillip Lemoine Sr; best friend, Tom Ed; wonderful neighbors, Jeff and Lois Smith; and his adoring pets, Cuddles, Douglas, Maribelle, and Ni-Ni.

Sonny was preceded in death by his parents, Margaret and William Scott Sr.; sister, Nora "Penny" Scott; and his grandpa, Jesse Scott.
