William "Bill" Roy Payne

William “Billy” Roy Payne, of Ponchatoula, Louisiana, passed away surrounded by his children on Sunday, February 4, 2024, at the age of 72. He was born in New Orleans, Louisiana, on Saturday, January 26, 1952, to the late Mariou Herbert Payne and Virginia Mary Heffker Payne. 

William is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Jennifer Lynne Payne and Thaddeus Gautier, son, David Michael Payne, and son, Benjamin Scott Payne; grandchildren, John Scott Payne, Alexis Marie Payne, Lillian Camille Gautier, Reese Harmony Payne, and Oliver Scott Payne; and brothers, Mike Payne, Paul Arnold, and Marshall Payne.

In addition to his parents, William was preceded in death by his wife, Cynthia Irene Payne. 

Family and friends will be received at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home, 2000 N. Morrison Blvd, Hammond, Louisiana 70401 on Saturday, February 10, 2024, from 1:00 pm until 3:00 pm. 

A funeral service will be held in the funeral home chapel on Saturday at 3:00 pm.

Interment will follow at Rosaryville Cemetery Mausoleum in Ponchatoula, Louisiana.
