William Imon Parr passed away on Tuesday,June 28, 2022, in Ponchatoula, Louisiana, at the age of 92. He was born on Saturday, August 10, 1929 in Smackover, Arkansas to the late Viva Lena Eley Parr and William Parr Jr. He was a lifelong resident of Salt Lake City, UT and moved to Ponchatoula, Louisiana in 2020.
William served during the Korean War in the Signal Corp and was an electrical engineer. Â He worked at Sperry Rand, which later became Unisys. He worked on extending capabilities of weapons with radar and drones. Â He was an avid fisherman, who loved backpacking and fishing in the Uintah mountains. Â He was married for 61 years before his wife Ann passed away. Â He enjoyed meeting different people and making lasting friendships. His parents instilled a strong sense of family and he enjoyed spending time with his family. Â He became a devoted father especially to Belinda, who was born with cerebral palsy. He emphasized to his girls the importance of family and values.
William is survived by three daughters Deborah Eastwood (Dan) of Waukesha WI, Angela Froscheiser (Kary) of Herndon VA, and Sabrina Duhe of Ponchatoula, LA; five grandchildren Bryce Eastwood, Camille Froscheiser, Karl Froscheiser, Lionel B. Duhe III, and Olivia Dale; and one great grandchild Kimberleigh Froscheiser.
He was preceded in death by his wife Laverle Ann Parr, daughter Belinda Jeanne Parr and son-in-law Lionel B Duhe Jr.
Services will be held on Friday July 8, 2022 1:00 PM at First Presbyterian Church Hammond,LA. Â Friends may call Friday July 8 from 12 to 1 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to C.A.S.T.for Kids Foundation.
