William Ellis Starkey

William Ellis Starkey, of Amite, Louisiana, passed away on Wednesday, December 7, 2022, at the age of 66. He was born on January 7, 1956, in Hammond, Louisiana, the son of the late Andrew Starkey Sr. and Mary Pearl Hammons Starkey. William was a proud veteran of the U.S. Army. He was hardworking and would always help someone in need. William loved his children and grandchildren and he will be missed dearly.

William is survived by his sons, Joseph Starkey, Mike Starkey (Hope), and Scott Starkey (Amanda); grandchildren, Cameron, Ethan, Zachary, Ali, Leo, and Korbyn Starkey; stepdaughters, Cheree Coates and Abby Pagart, step grandchildren, Julius, Jacob, Mallory, Stephanie, Samuel and Braeden; brothers, Andrew Starkey Jr. (Tamara) and Douglas Starkey; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, William was preceded in death by his first wife, Brenda Marie Foret Starkey; second wife, Susan Ella Fletcher Coates; stepdaughter, Samantha Starkey; stepson, Paul Starkey; and sisters, Faye Starkey and Barbara Torres

Family and friends will be received at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home, 2000 N. Morrison Blvd, Hammond, Louisiana 70401 on Tuesday, December, 13, 2022 from 2:00 pm until 4:00 pm.
