William "Arthur" Graves Calmes Ii

William "Arthur" Graves Calmes II, age 74, of Ponchatoula, Louisiana, passed away on Sunday, August 16, 2020, at East Jefferson General Hospital in Metairie. He was born on Saturday, June 29, 1946, in New Orleans, Louisiana to William Arthur Graves Calmes I. and Frances Davis Calmes. Arthur enjoyed life and loved to collect rocks, fossils, building ceramic tables and jewelry boxes, but he especially loved spending time with his family.

Arthur is survived by his sons, Phillip Calmes (Jill) and William Arthur "W.A." Graves Calmes III, his daughters, Tina Wagner (Jeremy), Rachel Calmes and Tiffany Talbert, his grandchildren, Blake Calmes (Anna), Phillip Gerald Calmes, Justin Calmes, Alaina Childs (Thomas), Shannon Corkern, Eli Wagner, Brennon Fitzgerald, Korbyn Calmes, Kaison Calmes, Brittany Fayard and Bradley Fayard (Hannah), 6 great grandchildren, his brothers, William “Bill” Calmes (Dottie), Jimmy Calmes (Lynn), Ronnie Calmes, Dennis Calmes (Carol) and Gary Calmes, his sisters, Gail Arnone, Corlis Thorn (Carl) and Elizabeth “Liz” Arp, also many nieces, nephews and close friends.

Arthur was preceded in death by his parents, William Arthur Graves Calmes I. and Frances Davis Calmes, his grandson, Skylar Blaine Calmes and his sister, Danette Newey.

A Graveside Service Celebrating Arthur's Life will be held on Saturday, August 22, 2020, 10:00 am at Mt. Stevens "Red Hill" Cemetery in Independence.
