Wesley Morris Meades

Wesley Morris Meades, loving husband, father and grandfather passed away on September 29, 2023 at the age of 88. Wesley was born in Pumpkin Center, Louisiana on August 30, 1935. He graduated from Ponchatoula High School in 1953. Worked as an engineering specialist with the Louisiana Highway Department until retiring and then with Judy Meades Tax Service.  Wesley is a past grand master at the Pine Grove Masonic Lodge #288- Ponchatoula, Louisiana.  He was also a long-time deacon at Jerusalem Baptist Church in Pumpkin Center, Louisiana.

He is survived by his wife Judith Shaffer Meades (the love of his life), son Willard Meades (Helen), daughter Cristi Cook (Thomas Koloff), daughter Deirdre "DeeDee" Domingues (Brian), Roger "Scotty" Meades (Heather) along with many grandchildren, great grandchildren., and great-great grandchildren. He is also survived by his sisters; Patsy Dixon, Ann Aime, Margie Foster (Vernon); brothers Roy Gautreaux (Toni), Glenn Meades (Charlotte), LeVern Meades (Vicky), as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins.  

Wesley was preceded in death by his Mamma and Papa, Willie W. Meades and Mayetta Coates Meades; mother Gertrude Page Rogers; Father Flavius J. Meades (Mattie Lou Carroll); brothers Flavius Meades Jr., Stanley Meades, Alan Meades; and sister, Darlene Gautreaux. Wesley enjoyed fishing, camping, and most of all his family.

The family will have a private Celebration of Wesley's Life at a later date.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home and Crematory, Hammond, LA.
