Wanda Dukes Bordelon Medina

Wanda Dukes Bordelon Medina, of Prairieville, Louisiana, went to her heavenly home on Thursday, August 1, 2024, at the age of 70, surrounded by family. She was born on Friday, March 5, 1954, in Alexandria, Louisiana, to the late Austin Dukes and Nancy Dillard. 

Wanda is survived by her loving husband of 25 years, Efrain Medina; daughters, Michelle Bordelon Magee and her husband, Jonathan and Danielle “Dani” Dukes; step-daughters, Sue-Ling and her daughter, Mia, Melissa and her son, Charlie, and Jennifer and her son, George; brother, James “Jimmy” Dukes and his wife, Susan; brother-in-law, Gene Froelich; stepsisters, Pat Barrere & Debbie Bell; stepbrother, Frank Silliker, Jr.; niece and nephew, Ruth Detwiler and Will Dukes; best friend, Cyndi Carter and family, and her fur babies, Tia and Missy. 

In addition to her parents, Wanda was preceded in death by her stepmother, Dorothy Dukes; stepfather, Frank Silliker, Sr.; sister, Nita Froelich; and nephew, Jeff Dukes. 

Family and friends will be received at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home, 2000 N Morrison Blvd., Hammond, Louisiana, 70401, on Wednesday, August 7, 2024, from 11:00 am until the funeral services begin at 1:00 pm. 

Interment will follow at Rose Memorial Park Cemetery Mausoleum.
