Walter James Askew, Jr.

Walter J. Askew Jr., age 67, passed away on Thursday, October 24, 2024, surrounded by his loving family, at North Oaks Medical Center in Hammond, Louisiana. He was born in New Orleans on March 12, 1957 to the late Victoria and Walter Askew Sr. Walter was in IT work for many years since computers first came around but most recently enjoying being a Table Game Supervisor before retiring. He could easily be found enjoying the Sci-Fi realm of movies such as Star Wars and Star Trek, or playing video games with his son, Liam. His family was everything and spend all of his time with them making memories they will cherish forever. Walter lived for his family, who supported all of their endeavors, making sure they had everything they needed, but his main goal was to make them happy. He was a wonderful husband, father and friend to all who knew him and will be deeply missed. 

He leaves behind his wife of 19 years, Vickie Askew; sons, Liam Askew and Quinton Askew (Tyisha); honorary daughter, Samantha Felbermayer; his lifelong friend, Glen Tate; as well as numerous cousins.

Preceding him death were his parents, Walter Askew Sr. and Victoria Kelley; and a host of friends who have passed before him.
