W.M. "Bill" Reid, Sr.

W.M. “Bill” Reid, Sr. was born August 31, 1933, in Amite, LA to the late Byron B. and Calvnease Baham Reid, and passed away at his home in Ponchatoula March 5, 2023, surrounded by his family.  Bill was a retired U.S. Army Chief Warrant Officer II and a retired truck driver.  He is survived by his children, Sandra Betterton (Alan), Wallace Reid, Jr. (Faith), and Debra Sumrall; siblings, Lois Roberts, Eva Jacks, and Robert Eddie Reid (Joanne); 8 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; 3 great great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.  Bill is preceded in death by his children, Cheryl Musser and Lily Darlene Hudson; grandchildren, Jennifer DiMiceli and Bradley Reid, and siblings, Justin Wayne Reid, Ansel Reid, and Stanley Reid.  Visitation will be held at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home, 100 W. Magnolia Street, Ponchatoula, Friday, March 10, 2023, from 9:00 a.m. until funeral services at 1:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel.  Interment with military honors will follow in Natalbany Cemetery, Tickfaw.
