Vivian Grace Guzzardo Provetere

Vivian Grace Guzzardo Provetere, of Independence, Louisiana, passed away surrounded by her loving family on Monday, March 11, 2024, at the age of 80. She was born on November 8, 1943, in Rockford, Illinois, the daughter of the late George and Josephine Uli Guzzardo. Vivian retired from Lallie Kemp Medical Center after 32 years and was an avid member of Mater Dolorosa Catholic Church and the Catholic Daughters of America. Vivian loved being around people, playing cards and bingo, and cooking for a houseful of family and friends.
 
 Vivian is survived by her daughters, Stephanie Poole McChester and husband Keith McChester, Lori Canzoneri Perkins and husband Mack Perkins Jr., and Jessica Provetere Parish; grandchildren, Wade Parsons, Chelsea Parsons Adams, Nick Perkins, Lexi Parish, and Cayli Parish; great grandson, Cayden Adams; sister, Virginia Whittington; and numerous nieces and nephews.
 
 In addition to her parents, Vivian was preceded in death by her husband of 38 years, Johnnie A. Provetere; grandson, Wesley Parsons; siblings, Josephine Poletto, Sam Guzzardo, Gus Guzzardo, Mary Genusa, and Mike Guzzardo.

Family and friends will be received at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home, 2000 N. Morrison Blvd, Hammond, Louisiana 70401 on Friday, March 15, 2024 from 6:00 pm until 9:00 pm. Visitation will continue at Harry McKneely & Son on Saturday, March 16, 2024 from 8:00 am until 9:30 am.
 
 A Funeral Mass will be held at Mater Dolorosa Catholic Church, 620 3rd St., Independence, Louisiana 70443 on Saturday at 10:00 am, with Fr. Reuben Dykes officiating.
 
 Entombment will follow at Colonial Cemetery Mausoleum in Independence, Louisiana.
