Vivian Jeanette McCurley Pedigo

Vivian Jeanette McCurley Pedigo, born July 8, 1938, in Crosby, MS and a longtime resident of Ponchatoula, LA, has passed away peacefully on March 31, 2025, surrounded by loved ones. What a beautiful lady. She embodied the essence of to love is to be loved. Many knew her from the Book Exchange in Hammond, a store she proudly owned and operated for 29 years, but we knew her as the most caring, loving, compassionate and gentle soul that embraced people right where they were, never would ask for anything in return, and would light up a room with her presence. She was a Christian and a member of Woodland Park Baptist Church, and loved her church family especially her ladies group. A few things that she enjoyed were reading, cooking, gardening, bird watching and spending time with family and friends. With her beautiful smile and servant’s heart she was always the best host. Our loss is definitely Heaven’s gain. Vivian is preceded in death by her parents, John Aaron and Anna Bernice McCurley; husband of 59 years Charles Aaron Pedigo; brother, John Wesley McCurley, and her sister Marjorie Kent. She is survived by her sons; Stewart (Stephanie) Pedigo and Steven (Frances) Pedigo; grandchildren, Dennis Pedigo, Leslie Pedigo, and Aaron (Kristen) Pedigo; great grandchildren, Evy Hose, Audrey Hose, Kallie Collins, Layla Pedigo and Eli Pedigo; great great grandchildren, Paisley Baygents and Lily Baygents; sisters, Marie (Charlie) Toler and Ann Bruce; and many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home, 2000 North Morrison Boulevard, Hammond, Friday, April 4, 2025, after 9:00 a.m. until funeral services at 11:00 a.m. conducted by Rev. Randy Ray. Interment will follow in Rose Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made in her memory to a charity of your choice.
