Vivian Holt Chandler

Vivian Holt Chandler, of Hammond, Louisiana, went to her Heavenly home on Saturday, May 2, 2026, just one week before her 93rd birthday. She was born on Tuesday, May 9, 1933 in McMinnville, Tennessee. In 1952, this Louisiana boy, Charles Chandler, swept her off of her feet. Soon after, they married and he moved her to Hammond. They went on to have a family of seven. After becoming a widow at an early age, her true strength began to shine through. She totally devoted her life to her children. Always having three home cooked meals a day on the table, and keeping an immaculate house. Her children were always her priority.

Vivian is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Charles E Chandler, Jr and Karen; daughters and sons-in-law; Charlotte and Edward Bryant, Kay and J.C. Watts, Teresa and Billy J Mulkey, and daughter, Connie Comans. Seven grandchildren; Jennifer C Dunn (Rob), Daina L Joiner, Amy C Lang (Bobby), Daniel Ridder, Justin Ridder (Meaghan), Tyler Kennedy (Lauren) and Katelyn Matherly (Josh). Nine great grandchildren; Chandler Dunn, Emily Matherly, Brooke Dunn, Alyssa Lang, Landen Kennedy, Miley Matherly, Annaleigh, Adalyn and Rustin Ridder.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles E Chandler, Sr; daughter and son-in-law Barbara and Danny Prevost, son, Ralph Chandler; son-in-law Kevin Comans; grandson, Walter Otis Joiner. Parents Edgar and Lola Davenport Holt. Siblings, Floyd Holt, Lloyd Holt, Roena Carr, Robbie Jones and Lawanna Dodd.

Family and friends will be received at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home, 2000 N Morrison Boulevard, Hammond, Louisiana 70401 on Wednesday, May 6, 2026 from 11:00 am until the funeral service beginning at 1:00 pm.

Interment will follow at Greenlawn Cemetery in Hammond, Louisiana.
