Virginia Trapen Guzzardo

Virginia Trapen Guzzardo, of Tickfaw, Louisiana, passed away at Richard Murphy Hospice House on Friday, May 14, 2021, at the age of 76. She was born on July 3, 1944, in Tickfaw, Louisiana, the daughter of the late Mike Trapen and Jennie Bonfiglio Trapen.

Virginia is survived by her husband of 57 years, Michael Guzzardo; daughters, Melinda Tynes (Preston) and Michele Woods (Greg); grandchildren, Laken Danos (Michael), Jordan Vicknair (Todd), Brittany Misita (Ace), Krista Christian (Daniel), Brent Tynes (Charlotte), and Brandon Woods; great grandchildren, Blaire, Lainey, Kayleigh, Ava, Crew, and Ollie; brother, Tony Trapen; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Virginia was preceded in death by her sister, Mildred Purcello and brother, John Trapen.

Family and friends will be received at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home, 2000 N. Morrison Blvd, Hammond, Louisiana 70401 on Tuesday, May 18, 2021 from 9:00 am until 10:30 am.

A Funeral Mass will be held at Our Lady of Pompeii Catholic Church, 14450 Hwy 442, Tickfaw, Louisiana 70466 on Tuesday at 11:00 am, with Fr. Michael Galea officiating.

Entombment will follow at Our Lady of Pompeii Catholic Cemetery in Tickfaw, Louisiana.
