Virginia Carrier Mosher

Virginia Carrier Mosher passed away at her home on Wednesday, September 18, 2024, in Loranger, Louisiana, at the age of 89. She was born on Thursday, April 25, 1935 in Loranger, Louisiana to the late Lois Page Carrier and Woodrow Carrier. She was a proud lifelong resident of Loranger, Louisiana. Virginia taught for 30 years at Loranger Elementary and was Loranger's unofficial Historian. Along with her husband, she co-authored Footsteps in Loranger.

Virginia is survived by her sons, Delbert R Mosher, wife Therese, Gordon Mosher, wife Laurie; siblings, Stanley Carrier, Melba Carrier Stieglitz, sisters-in-law, Judy Carrier, Mavis Carrier, Eloise Mosher Cranke; and brother-in-law, Lorance Mosher, wife Patti; grandchildren, Mitchell Mosher, wife Amy, Megan Mosher, Phillip Mosher, Caitlyn Mosher Sanchez, husband Eric; and great-grandchildren, Allison Mosher, Jase and Emra Sanchez; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband, James G. Mosher; parents, Lois Page Carrier and Woodrow Carrier; siblings, Alton, Sidney, Stephen and Robert Carrier; grandson, Andrew Mosher; and beloved sister-in-law, Gayle Mosher Carrier.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home, 2000 N. Morrison Blvd, Hammond, Louisiana 70401, on Saturday, September 21, 2024 from 9:00 am until services begin at 12:30 pm. 

The family would like to thank Traditions Hospice for their love and support through this difficult time, especially Kathy, Tonya, Brandy and Paulette, her sitter Kim Addison Corkern, as well as Shkethia Cryer. 

Interment will follow in Loranger Community Cemetery, Loranger, Louisiana.
