Virgil Ozment Mcwilliams Krafft

Virgil Ozment McWilliams Krafft, 94, went to meet her Lord and Savior on Sunday, August 16, 2020, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on Tuesday, August 10, 1926, in Ponchatoula, Louisiana, the daughter of the late Joseph Virgil Ozment and Blanche Broussard Ozment.

Virgil lived her life to the fullest. For many years she could be found playing golf at Oak Knoll Country Club. She loved to travel, and visited many places in the world. One of her proudest accomplishments was being a volunteer at North Oaks Medical Center where she served for 39 years. In recent years, Virgil enjoyed playing cards and getting together with friends and family. Virgil was a lifelong member of St Joseph Catholic Church. She was a beautiful example of a southern Christian Lady. She loved God and found courage and strength to face whatever life presented. During her journey, Virgil was blessed to have two special men in her life, the late Joel George McWilliams Jr. and the late Fritz Krafft. Virgil was an awesome wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend who is already missed by all who knew her. She left us all better for having known her.The family would like to thank the staff at Richard Murphy Hospice House for their compassion and care of  Mrs. Virgil.

Virgil is survived by her daughters & sons-in-law, Becky M. and Larry Roberts, Patti M. and Anthony Berner Jr., Cathy M. and David Parker, daughter-in-law, Jane McWilliams, 10 grandchildren, Jeffery Roberts(Liz), Kim Ishee, Brad Berner(Kristy), Corey Berner(Cally), Chad Roberts(Jessica), Ryan Roberts, Lindsey Whittaker(Ron), Anna Parker, Jodee Hoover(Brandon), Joelle McWilliams, 19 Great-grandchildren, Taylor, Olivia, Joshua, Rebecca, Brooks, Brady, Beau, Jake, Carly, Cole, Ally, Madison, Laney, Gavin, Reese, Ross, Joel, Ragan, and Jake, great-great-grandson, August, step-sons, Bill Krafft, and  John Krafft, step-daughters, Kay Sprenzel, Sara Mentz, Gretchen Krafft, and her brother, Darrel Ozment.

She was preceded in death by husband, J. George McWilliams, Jr., second husband, Fritz Krafft, son, Joel G. McWilliams III, step-daughter, Melissa Zunis, sisters. Myrt Ozment, Pearl Sharp, Ruby Christman, Mattie Gillespie, Annette Hagg, and brother, Kenneth Ozment.

Family and friends will be received at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home, 100 W. Magnolia St., Ponchatoula, Louisiana,  on Thursday, August 20, 2020 from 9:00 am until 10:30 am.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 255 North 8th Street, Ponchatoula, Louisiana on Thursday at 11:00 am.

Interment will follow at Ponchatoula Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Richard Murphy Hospice House.

Face masks are now mandatory to attend any visitation or service at the funeral home. Thank you for your cooperation.
