Vincent Victor "Cookie" Varisco Jr.

Vincent Victor "Cookie" Varisco Jr., of Hammond, Louisiana, passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his loving family on Monday, July 28, 2025, at the age of 85. He was born on October 6, 1939, in New Orleans, Louisiana, the son of the late Vincent Victor Varisco, Sr. and Helen Marcell Maes Varisco. Vincent was a proud veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps. A true jack of all trades, Vincent was not only a gifted craftsman, having owned a carpentry shop where he honed his skills in woodworking and cabinetry, but he also embodied the spirit of hard work and dedication. Cookie's deep faith was an essential part of his life. He was a devoted member of the Holy Ghost Catholic Church, where he also served as an usher. Cookie loved being outdoors. He was always working in his garden and tending to his lawn. His memory is cherished by his family and he will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

Cookie is survived by his loving wife, Frances Piediscalzo Varisco; children, Vincent V. Varisco III (Delores), Kim Ortego (Randy), Lisa Shelton (Taylor); bonus children, Daniel Monistere (Trine), and Donald Monistere (Daphne); daughter-in-law, Tara Varisco; and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Cookie was preceded in death by his son, Brent Murphy Varisco, sister, Toni Muscarello, and brother, Vernon Varisco.

The family would like to sincerely thank the staff of Modern Hospice for their compassionate care.

Family and friends will be received at Holy Ghost Catholic Church, 600 North Oak Street, Hammond, Louisiana 70401 on Monday, August 4, 2025 from 9:00 am until 11:00 am, with a Funeral Mass at 11:00 am.

Entombment will follow at Rose Memorial Park Cemetery in Hammond, Louisiana.
