Vincent A. Pisciotta, Jr.

Vincent A. Pisciotta, Jr.

Vincent A. Pisciotta, Jr. passed away quietly on October 1, 2016 after a difficult struggle these last 6 months. He was born on August 11, 1928 in New Orleans, Louisiana to Vincent, Sr. and Rose Pisciotta. Mr. Vince is survived by his sister, Mary Ann and 3 sons; Vincent (Michele), Michael (Deana), Terry (Cindy). His 10 grandchildren, Logan, Laurie, Zachary, Cara, Brady, Vincent, Quinlan, Rebecca, Cody, and Sophia will miss their Paw Paw.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Vincent, Sr. and Rose Pisciotta, his wife of 46 years, Tena Ann Pecararo Pisciotta and his brothers, Ellis and Ralph.

Mr Vince served his country as a member of the Army stationed in Germany.  He was a member of Our Lady of Pompeii Parish in Tickfaw, LA his entire life.  He was honored more than once at the St Joseph's Day meal.

Mr. Vince, aka Fred, was a man of few words and great loyalty.  His life illustrated his belief in family, friends, and community.  He remained involved in the lives of those he loved.  Fred enjoyed shrimping and fishing, antique cars, baseball, and playing cards with his sons, nephews, and their friends.  Watching marlin jump and spending time on offshore fishing trips was a thrill he loved to share with the other members of the Heads-n-Tails fishing team.

Despite battling long standing health issues, Mr. Vince believed in the gift of life.  He simply wanted to get home to enjoy his property and some quiet time with his large extended family.

A Visitation for Vince will be held on Tuesday, October 4, 2016 from 6:00pm - 9:00pm at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home in Hammond and continue on Wednesday, October 5, 2016 from 9:00am - 10:00am at Our Lady of Pompeii Catholic Church in Tickfaw. A Funeral Mass Celebrating Vince’s Life will immediately follow visitation at 10:00am in the church. Interment will follow at Tickfaw Catholic Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to your parish CCD program or Catholic school.  Funeral arrangements are being handled by Harry McNeel and Son Funeral Home in Hammond, LA.
