Victor âVicâ H. Ridgel, age 84, of Natalbany, Louisiana, passed away on Tuesday, October 20, 2020, at home with his family by his side. He was born on Thursday, January 9, 1936, in New Orleans, Louisiana, to Louis Ridgel and Florence Anderson Ridgel. Vic enjoyed life and loved gardening, canning vegetables, riding around on his tractor, working outdoors, coffee with his buddies at the donut shop and playing cards, but he especially loved spending time with his grand babies and his family. Â
Vic is survived by his loving wife of 38 years, Peggy Williams Ridgel, his sons Wayne Ridgel and his wife Pamela and Eric Varnado and his wife Summer, his daughters, Debbie Ferrara and Angie Varnado and her husband Charles, his grandchildren, Philip Ridgel, Toni Marie Nassar and her husband Nick, Baleigh Varnado, Stephanie Ridgel, Zada Cologne, Eric Varnado, Jr., and Nolan Varnado, 3 great grandchildren, his brothers, Kenny Ridgel and Colin Ridgel, and his sisters, Josie Pradat and her husband Doug and Linda Ridgel, also many nieces, nephews and close friends.Â
Vic was preceded in death by his parents, Louis Ridgel and Florence Anderson Ridgel, his brothers, Louis Ridgel, Jesse Ridgel, Keith Ridgel and Edward Ridgel, Sr. and his sisters, Louise and Janice.
A Visitation for Vic will be held on Saturday, October 24, 2020 from 9:00am until 12:30 pm at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home in Hammond. A Funeral Service Celebrating Vicâs Life will immediately follow visitation at 12:30 pm in the funeral home chapel. Interment will follow at Red Hill Cemetery in Natalbany.Â
