Travis Rolling Amar, of Tickfaw, Louisiana, passed away on Thursday, November 14, 2024, at the age of 58. He was born on Monday, April 18, 1966, in Hammond, Louisiana.
Travis received a Bachelor of General Studies from Louisiana State University (LSU) on May 18, 1990 and later went on to receive his Juris Doctor from Southern University and Agricultural and Mechanical College, Southern University Law Center on May 14, 1994. He was a practicing Attorney in Tangipahoa Parish.
Travis is survived by his wife, Jeanne Maureen Poche Amar; mother, Janice Ann Rolling Amar; son, Travis "T.J." Amar, Jr.; brother, Edward "Ted" A. Amar III; stepdaughter, Tiffany Byers Desselles and her husband Jason Desselles; mother-in-law, Annette Poche; nephew, Edward A. "Teddy" Amar III; grandchildren, Xander Fussell, Adriana Fussell, Madison Byers, and Aiden Byers.
He was preceded in death by his father Edward Albert Amar Jr.; stepson, Jason Michael Byers; grandparents, Edward A. Amar Sr. and Edie May Neuwirth Amar,; grandparents, Edward Joseph Rolling Jr.and Lena Maude Martens Rolling; father-in-law, Robert Carl Poche.
Family and friends will be received at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home, 2000 N. Morrison Blvd, Hammond, Louisiana 70401 on Saturday, November 23, 2024 from 10:00 am until 1:00 pm.
A Funeral Service will be held at Funeral Home Chapel, on Saturday at 1:00 pm.
Interment will follow at Sandhill Cemetery.
