Toby James Hinton

Toby James Hinton passed away on Monday, September 14, 2026, in Covington, Louisiana, at the age of 60. He was born on Thursday, April 7, 1966, in New Orleans, Louisiana, to the late Audrey Stolz Hinton and the late Ira Hinton III. He was a resident of Hammond, Louisiana.

Toby lived life to the fullest and made a lasting impression on everyone he met. To so many, he was affectionately known as "Uncle Toby". His warm spirit, generous heart, and genuine love for others made him someone who was cherished by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Toby was one of the founding fathers of the Southeastern Louisiana University chapter of Kappa Sigma Fraternity and a member of the City Club of Hammond. His friendships and presence left an enduring mark on the organizations he was a part of.

To know Toby was to love him. He had a way of making people feel welcome and like family. His laughter, kindness and unforgettable personality will be deeply missed, but the memories he created and the lives he touched will remain forever.

Toby is survived by his wife, Sandee Favalora Hinton; sister, Holly Hanford(Gary); brother, Guy Hinton; mother-in-law & father-in-law, Frank and Florence Favalora; brothers-in-law, Frankie Favalora(Rhonda) and Charlie Favalora(Leighann); niece, Kristen Moore(Ben); nephews, Tyler Hanford, Quinn Hanford, Will Stewart(Lisa), Joshua Favalora(Jenna), and Jeremy Favalora(Jill); great-nieces & great-nephews, Holton Hanford, Taylor Stewart, William Stewart, Abigail Favalora, Roman Favalora, Jameson Favalora, and Josie Favalora.

He was preceded in death by his father, Ira Hinton, III; mother, Audrey Stolz Hinton; and brother, Ron Hinton.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral home, 2000 N Morrison Boulevard Hammond, LA 70401, on Monday, Oct 5th, 2026 beginning at 9:00 AM until the memorial service begins at 11:00 AM.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Richard Murphy Hospice House or LOPA in Toby's name.
