Thomas "Tommy" Earl Walker

Thomas "Tommy" Earl Walker, left this earthly world behind to join his wife in the beautiful orange skies on Tuesday, September 22, 2026, at the age of 77. He was born to the late William and Margaret Walker on January 2, 1949, in Sparta, Tennessee. Even though he was a Ponchatoula resident, his blood will “forever runneth orange” for his Tennessee roots, and he always wore his Tennessee orange for every occasion. Thomas was a career Naval officer, retiring as a Lieutenant Commander with over 20 years of dedicated service, with too many accolades to mention. He was a family man to the fullest, the best dad and Paw Paw his family could have ever asked for. Tommy is described as the most loving, dependable, forgiving, selfless man, who always put others before himself. Along with being an amazing role model for his grandchildren, he also helped raise his grandchildren, Elayna and Raymond Walker since they were born, giving them the best life he could alongside his daughter, Theresa. In their eyes, he was the strongest man who could do anything. Paw Paw was so proud of his kids and grandkids. His family was his life. He loved spoiling his grandkids, making them laugh with his silly quotes, playful spirit, and calmness that he brought to every moment. He loved taking care of people, from donut runs to trips to the cabin in Tennessee, he was there for them. While in Tennessee he couldn't pass up the chance to hang out with his friends, trading stories, and memories of the good old times. He told the best stories about all of his adventures. Tommy was known for his tremendous cooking and grilling skills, especially his steaks, having a reputation from Tennessee to New York. His treat for himself was his Mom’s oatmeal cookies (made by Dink). Tommy was the life of the party, the prankster, genius comebacks, nicknames that stuck, he was the friend anyone would want to have and will be missed beyond measure.

He leaves behind his daughters, Richelle Perron (Johnathan), Mackenzie “Mack” Seal (Yancey), Deanna “Dink” Arthur (Ian), Theresa Walker; grandchildren, Alicia Delatte, Lauren Stogner, Sarah Ash, Evie Delatte, Tommy "Little Weasel" Delatte III, Callie "Calamity" Arthur, Emma "Emma Nema" Seal, Tyler "Bruiser" Arthur, Zaylee Efferson, Natalie "Pee Wee" Arthur, Elayna "Pookie" Walker, Walker “Walk Walk” Seal, Raymond "Ray Ray" Walker; 9 great-grandchildren; brothers, John R. Walker, Billy Walker, Harold Walker; numerous nieces and nephews, as well as his friends he has kept up with from the Class of '67, which he was proud of and remained grateful for the friendships and memories made throughout the years.

Preceding him in death were his loving wife, Donna Elaine Walker; favorite sister, Margaret "Peggy" Walker, and his parents.

There will be a Celebration of Life on October 11, 2026, at 12:00 p.m., 212 E Pine St, Amite LA 70422.

We will also have another celebration of life in Tennessee in November for his friends and family.
