Thomas “Tommy” Henry Scott Sr.

Thomas “Tommy” Henry Scott Sr., of Akers, Louisiana, passed away at his home on Owl Bayou Canal on Monday, February 12, 2024, at the age of 60. He was born on March 9, 1963, in Houma, Louisiana, the son of the late Andrew Paul Scott and Rita Mae Vidal Scott. He was a fisherman, who loved shrimping and crabbing with his father; Tommy loved the water his whole life. He was free spirited, and loved riding motorcycles; he loved camping and sitting by a bonfire making everyone laugh. He loved his children and grandchildren more than life itself; from sitting on the porch and teaching them to fish, to tossing them a football; we will forever cherish the memories we made. For this is not a goodbye, just a see you later. 

Tommy is survived by his fiancée, Karen Riddell Scott; sons, Thomas Henry Scott Jr. (Shanda) and Nicolos Scott (Summer Johnson); step-sons, Rodger Granger (Margaurite), and Blaine Owens (Bri); grandchildren, Julia Reneé Scott, Thomas Henry Scott III, Nicolos Thomas Scott, Karson Scott, and Kameron Scott; step-grandchildren, Ashleigh, Ashton, Ahydon, Maci, Ryder, and Maddox Granger, and Mason and Ella Owens; siblings, Randy Scott (Antoinette), Cindy Martin (Huey), Donald Scott (Judy), Wilbert Scott, David Scott, Kathy LeBlanc (Mike), Paul Scott (Paula), and Bobby Scott (Melanie); and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

In addition to his parents, Tommy was preceded in death by his cousin, Larry Scott.

Family and friends will be received at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home, 2000 N. Morrison Blvd, Hammond, Louisiana 70401 on Saturday, February 17, 2024 from 9:00 am until the Funeral Service begins at 11:00 am.
