Thomas Patrick Wells

Thomas Patrick Wells passed away on Friday, September 13, 2019, in Hammond, Louisiana, at the age of 79.  He was born on Tuesday, May 28, 1940 in Brookhaven, Mississippi to the late Liza King and the late Monroe Wells.  He was a resident of Hammond, Louisiana.

Tommy was employed by the US Postal Service in Hammond for 31 years.  He was a history buff who enjoyed reading, telling stories, and searching for "hidden treasures" with his metal detector. Tommy was a kind, selfless, easy-going man who adored his family and never met a stranger. He was well-liked and loved by many.

Tommy is survived by his wife, Mary Grace Wells; daughter, Katrinka Schexnayder (Chad); sons, Brian Wells and Collin Wells (Trent Hebert); brother-in-law, Johnny Dorsa (Gwen); granddaughter, Siri Lopinto; grandsons, Chad, jr. and Coby Schexnayder; and brothers, Don, Maurice, and Thomas Effler.

In addition to his parents, Tommy was preceded in death by his adoptive parents, Woodrow and Alida Effler and his brother, J.W. Effler.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation at Holy Ghost Catholic Church, 600 North Oak Street, Hammond, Louisiana 70401, on Thursday, September 19, 2019 beginning at 9:00 AM until the funeral mass begins at 11:00 AM.  

Interment will follow in Rose Memorial Park Cemetery, Hammond, Louisiana.
