Thomas William O'Neill Sr.

Thomas William O’Neill, Sr. passed away on Wednesday, March 13, 2024 at the age of 85 years old.  He was a devoted and much loved husband, father, grandfather, uncle and friend.  Thomas was a Navy veteran who retired from both Goodyear and the Louisiana Secretary of State’s Office.  He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Jo Ann Santangelo O’Neill; their two children, Valette Bowers (Tony), and Thomas “Tommy” O’Neill Jr.; his grandchildren, Brandon Zahn (Staci), Whitney Burchfield (Brett), Victoria O’Neill and Aaron O’Neill; his great-grandchildren, Sophia Pitarro,  Jackson Zahn, Cash Burchfield and Piper Burchfield; special family members, Noah Millsap, Maggie Millsap, Michael Hottman, and Amjed Abu-Ghname; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.  Thomas was preceded in death by his parents, Charles Edward O’Neill, Sr. and Inez Eady O’Neill; siblings, Florine Baham, Lucious O’Neill, Owen O’Neill, Inez Randall, Geneva Jagneaus, Charles O’Neill Jr., Harold O’Neill, Elise Pingno, Ann Latino, Peggy McMorris, Paul O’Neill, Christopher O’Neill, and Donnie O’Neill.  
Services are scheduled for Sunday, March 24, 2024, from 9:00 AM-11:00 AM, a Celebration of Life and Prayer Service at 11:00 AM, both of which will take place at Harry McKneely and Son Funeral Home, at 2000 N. Morrison Blvd, Hammond, LA 70401 with interment immediately following at Rose Memorial Park Mausoleum, at 908 Western Ave, Hammond, LA 70401.
