Thaddis Paul Teel

On July 6, 2024, Thaddis Paul Teel passed away in the comfort of his home gathered by family due to illnesses. Paul was 86 years old. He was born in the family home on Teel Road in Ponchatoula, LA to his mother and father, Edna Hoover Teel, and Walter Teel. His father was from Germany, but Paul lived his childhood in Ponchatoula, playing football and enjoying life. On July 24, 1960, he married his wife, Beverly Eaves Teel. Paul and his wife were spiritual people. They participated in many church activities and worshipped the Lord throughout their lives. In 1959, he was drafted into the military where he spent 6 years serving his country as a specialist. On December 24, 1964, he welcomed his first son, and on March 12, 1968, he welcomed his second son, both he adored. 

He is survived by his son, Glenn Teel; sister, Carrie Bankston; daughter-in-law, Misty Teel; grandchildren, Ashley Clelland and husband, Corey, Kamrie Baldridge and husband, Christian; great-grandchildren, Hunter Clelland, Braysen and Luke Arnold, and Karson Baldridge. 

He is preceded in death by his wife, Beverly Eaves Teel; son, Brian Teel; parents, Edna Hoover Teel, and Walter Teel; brother, Walter Ola Teel; and a sister, Thera Deffendall. 

Paul was a devoted son, husband, father, brother, grandfather, and great-grandfather. When he was not doing things he loved and enjoyed, like coaching his son's baseball team, gardening, watching western movies, or going to church, he was furthering his career at Trinity Marine in Madisonville, LA, where he retired after 40+ years. Paul was a helpful man, he loved his family and peers and always wanted to help everyone. He loved to play with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Paul loved talking with family and friends and will be deeply missed by many.

 Visitation is scheduled for Saturday, July 13, 2024, at Harry McKneely & Sons Funeral Home, 100 West Magnolia Street, Ponchatoula, LA from 12:00 p.m. until religious services at 2:00 p.m. conducted by Rev. Caleb Miller. Interment with military honors will follow in Mitchell Cemetery, Ponchatoula, LA. 

Pallbearers will be Rodney Teel, Bryce Teel, Nick Teel, James Teel, Larry Meyers, Corey Clelland, Christian Baldridge, Stevie Kelly, Erwin Bankston, and Buell Teel. Special thanks to his two granddaughters, who took care of him and never left his side.
