Terri Sue Overland Phillips

Terri Sue Overland Phillips passed away surrounded by family on Friday, September 4, 2026, in Hammond, Louisiana, at the age of 66. She was born on Friday, April 1, 1960, in Independence, Louisiana, to the late Rose and Carl Overland. She was a resident of Hammond, Louisiana.

Terri was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and a dear friend to many. She loved the outdoors, especially spending time in her backyard caring for her Petunias and Verbena. Terri was also a crafty lady who enjoyed sewing. She loved apple pie, although she never quite inherited the “cooking gene.” She was the kind of cook who would set it and forget it, sometimes having to cook it twice, but she always tried her best. Terri will be deeply missed by her family and all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Terri is survived by her loving husband of 49 years, Lee Roy Phillips; sons, Carl Lee Phillips (Rachel) and Spencer William Phillips; daughter, Amanda Rose Phillips (J.P); grandchildren, Dixie Breland, Michelle, Baylor and Willow Phillips, Austin Phillips (Taylor) and Matthew Phillips; great-grandchildren, Wesley and Kaison; step-brother, Perry Gaitlin; and loving furry companion, Beau Beau.

She was preceded in death by her father, Carl Will Overland, and mother, Rose Marie Giluso Overland.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Visitation at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home - Hammond, 2000 N. Morrison Blvd, Hammond, Louisiana 70401, on Thursday, September 10, 2026, at 9:00 am, with the Funeral Service to follow at 11:00 am.

Interment will follow in McKinney Cemetery, 20171 Perrin Ferry Rd. S. Springfield, LA, 70462.
