Suzanne Misita Cox

Suzanne Misita Cox, of Hammond, Louisiana, passed away on Monday, November 4, 2024, at the age of 68. She was born on Saturday, May 5, 1956, in Amite, Louisiana. She was a resident of Hammond for more than 40 years. 

Susie is survived by her daughter, Krystal Cox; granddaughter, Alea Cox; sister, Sandy Basso and her husband, Eddie; brother Roy G. Misita and his wife, Patti. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews and her little dog, Jackson. 

She was preceded in death by her husband of almost 50 years, Arlon "Buddy" L. Cox, Jr.; son, Brian Cox; parents, Roy and Gloria Cappe Misita.

Despite surviving several battles with cancer, heart disease, and an autoimmune disorder that weakened her body, her spirit remained strong. She never lost her faith and continued to fight to the end, especially for her family, which meant everything to her. 

Family and friends will be received at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home, 2000 N. Morrison Blvd, Hammond, Louisiana 70401 on Friday, November 8, 2024, from 8:30 am until 10:30 am. 

A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Helena Catholic Church, 120 S. First St., Amite, Louisiana 70422 on Friday at 11:00 am. Immediately following the Mass there will be a reception at St. Helena Church. After the reception family and friends will meet at Rose Memorial Mausoleum for a 2:00 burial.
