Sonya Smith Haggard passed away on Wednesday, April 17, 2024, in Mount Hermon, Louisiana, at the age of 62. She was born on Monday, September 11, 1961 in Metairie, Louisiana to Viola Benedetto Smith and the late Robert Smith. She was a resident of Mount Hermon, Louisiana.

Sonya is survived by her children, Jeremy Haggard and his spouse, Samantha Lew, Robert Haggard and his wife, Jamie, Kiley Haggard and her spouse, Justin Lombas, and Sarah Haggard and her spouse, Joe Slaven, Jr.; grandchildren, Cheyenne Haggard, Robert Haggard, Jr., Hailey Lombas, Aiden Sackett, Ian Sackett, Wade Lombas, Jaze Sackett, Phoenix Haggard, Nash Haggard, and Colt Haggard; mother, Viola Smith; brother, Wayne.

In addition to her father, Sonya was also preceded in death by her husband, Arvil "Richard" Haggard; and her brothers, Gavin and Ian.
