Simon Stelly, Jr.

Simon Stelly Jr., age 72 of Independence, Louisiana, passed away on Tuesday, January 29, 2019, at University Medical Center in New Orleans. He was born on Wednesday, July 17,1946, in Rayne, Louisiana, to Simon, Sr. and Edith Decou Stelly. Simon enjoyed life and loved fishing, being outside, riding tractors and going to casinos,but he especially loved spending time with his family. 

Simon is survived by his wife,Charlette McCaa Stelly, his sons, David Allen Stelly and his wife Monica, Brian Keith Stelly and his wife Michelle, Simon Paul Stelly and his wife Hope, Gerald Glenn Stelly and John William Stelly and his wife Nicole, his step sons, Jayme Whittington and his wife Barbara, Jeremy Whittington and Aubrey Whittington,his step daughter, Janessa Whittington, his daughter in law, Rachel Giovingo,his grandchildren, Ernest, Pamela, Natalie, Maci, Brian, Shelia, Blair, Haliey, Alexis, Brianna, Madeline, Austin, Brennen, Jada, Layla, Landyn, Ana' lyse, Raegen, Mason, Braden, Landon, Brittany, Tyler and Tristyn, numerous great grandchildren and his sister, Helen, also many nieces, nephews and close friends.

Simon was preceded in death by his parents, Simon, Sr. and Edith Decou Stelly, his son, Simon "Ta” Stelly III, his daughter, Pamela Faye Stelly, his grandsons, Maverick Dale and TJ Stelly and his sister, Bernice Eddy. 

A Visitation for Simon will be held on Monday, February 4, 2019 from 5:00 pm until 6:00 pm at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home in Hammond. A Memorial Service Celebrating Simon's Life will immediately follow visitation at 6:00 pm in the funeral home chapel.
