Shirley Mae Seago Mcmenamin

Shirley Mae Seago McMenamin, of Ponchatoula, Louisiana, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family on Tuesday, September 1, 2020, at the age of 85. She was born on September 22, 1934, in New Orleans, Louisiana,the daughter of the late Leo Louis Seago Sr. and the late Thelma Seago. Shirley was a devout Catholic and member of St. Margaret Catholic Church in Albany and Our Lady of Pompeii Catholic Church in Tickfaw.

Shirley is survived by her children, Jean Schega and husband Ricky, Perry McMenamin, Jr., Shirleen Buccola and husband Mike, and Mary McMenamin; grandchildren, Richard Schega, Jr., Travis Schega, Christopher Buccola, and Michelle Bajon; great grandchildren, Ricky, Dexter, Mia, Sophie, Calvin, Ryan,Patrick, Bobby, Lincoln, Liam, and Lawson; brother, Leo Seago, Jr.; beloved dog, Bailey, and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Shirley was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Perry McMenamin, Sr., sister, Marie Ferrara, and daughter-in-law, Sally McMenamin.

Family and friends will be received at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home,2000 N. Morrison Blvd, Hammond, Louisiana 70401 on Saturday, September 5, 2020 from 9:30 am until 10:30 am. .

A Funeral Mass will be held at Our Lady of Pompeii Catholic Church, 14450 Hwy 442, Tickfaw, Louisiana 70466 on Saturday at 11:00 am, with Rev. Michael Galea officiating.

Entombment will follow at Rose Memorial Park Mausoleum in Hammond, Louisiana.
