Shirley Ann Crawford Legoria

Shirley Ann Crawford Legoria passed away on Friday, May 19, 2023, in Ponchatoula, Louisiana, at the age of 79.  She was born on Wednesday, August 4, 1943 in Steele, Missouri to the late Hazel Flood Crawford and the late William Crawford.  She was a resident of Ponchatoula, Louisiana.  Shirley was a beautician for 50 years and her customers were very devoted to her up until her retirement, and some were even the children and grandchildren of other customers she served over the years.

If you met Shirley, there were two things you knew immediately: that her whole life was devoted to her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, and that she loved her family more than anything. Shirley's faith was a focal point in her life, and she spent some time as a missionary in Singapore spreading the Word of God to the people there.  Before she and Frank were married, she explained to him that he would have to go to church with her.  Shirley and Frank were married for 41 years, and not a day went by that Frank didn't tell Shirley that he loved her.  She was a devoted wife, and an incredible mother, sister, aunt, and mimi.  Shirley was also a wonderful step-mother, and she loved her step-children as her own.  Shirley also loved LSU Football and country music, and she loved to travel to Nashville for the CMA Festival.

Shirley is survived by her husband of 41 years, Frank Legoria; son, Felix Arceneaux and his wife, Connie; grandson, Logan Arceneaux; step-children, Jeff Legoria and his wife, Sheri, Karen Romero and her husband, Troy, and John Legoria and his wife, Angelina; step-grandchildren, Christian Legoria, Tyler Romero, Jacob Romero, Brock Legoria, and Lainey Legoria; and sister, Julia Connell and her husband, Odell.

In addition to her parents, Shirley was also preceded in death by her siblings, Ronnie Crawford, Peggy Kelly, Harold Crawford, Terry Crawford, Jerry Crawford, Mary Rivera, and Lucy Davis.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home in Hammond, 2000 N Morrison Boulevard, Hammond, Louisiana 70401, on Wednesday, May 24, 2023 from 9:00 AM until the funeral service begins at 11:00 AM.

Interment will follow in Rose Memorial Cemetery, Hammond, Louisiana.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Gentiva Hospice for all of their care and compassion while caring for Shirley.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Shirley's name to Mary Bird Perkins Cancer Center.
