Shirley Keller Vicknair

Shirley Keller Vicknair passed away on Sunday, January 2, 2022, in Hammond, Louisiana, at the age of 85.  She was born on Monday, September 14, 1936 in Eunice, Louisiana to the late Bernadette Champagne Keller and the late Amadee Keller.  She was a resident of Nine Mile Point, Louisiana.  Shirley was a seamstress all of her life and used her skills to work on the Mardi Gras costumes for Carnival crews in the New Orleans area.  She attended Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church, where she contributed many years of work on the St. Joseph Altar.  She was also the President of the Bridge City Golden Age Club for many years.

Shirley is survived by her daughter, Wendy Vicknair Bordelon; grandchildren, Jessica Bordelon Hebert (Chad) and Emily Bordelon Judice (Nicholas); and 3 great-grandchildren, Daniel Hebert, Hailey Judice, and Zack Judice.

In addition to her parents, Shirley is also preceded in death by her husband, Herman Vicknair; and siblings, Louis Keller, Carrol Keller, Lionel Keller, Clifford Keller, Hilda Tregre, and Daisy Rushing.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church, 146 Fourth Street, Westwego, Louisiana 70094, on Friday, January 7, 2022, beginning at 10:30 AM until the funeral mass begins at 12:30 PM.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Friends of the Smokies in Shirley's name, either by phone at (865)932-4794 or online at friendsofthesmokies.org.
