Shirley Ann Goode

Shirley Ann Goode went to heaven on Monday, May 11,2026 in Hammond, LA, at the age of 85. She was born in Whitehall, LA, to the late Hugh and Mildred Ellis. She was a resident of Ponchatoula, LA. Shirley’s love of life was unmatched. She never met a stranger, had a feisty personality and loved to tell stories. Shirley loved to have a good time no matter where she was or who she was with. She was an artist and quilter and loved to be creative and share her masterpieces with her loved ones. Shirley was an avid gardener and loved tending to her plants in her spare time. She had many titles in life, but her two favorites were mama and mawmaw. Shirley was blessed with a large family that she loved dearly and who loved her back. 

She is survived by her children, Sandra Miller (Jewell), Max Pierson (Mindy), Carrie Rougeau, Virgie Harrell, Lisa Vander Pol (Brian), and Christine Gatlin (Gene); grandchildren, Jewell Miller Jr. (Angelia), Bradley Miller (Sherie), Jeremiah Pierson, Jacque Decker (Chad), Michael Francher (Stephanie), Bennie Pierson (Stacey), Jennifer Harvey, Brent Athey, Jason Cutrer (Melanie), Monica Beyl, Izayah Harrell, Lacey Lee, Candace Walker (Dylan), Katy Blanchard (Chris), Allie Smith (Ken), Lauren Simmons, Jaedyn Lamonica, Aleena Gatlin, Kaci Freeman (PJ); and 30 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister, Norma Huber; brother, Riley Ellis and numerous nieces and nephews.

 In addition to her parents, she is proceeded in death by husband, Maxillion Pierson; husband, Kenneth Goode; great-grandchild, Hope Decker; and son-in-law, Huey Harrell.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home, 100 W. Magnolia St., Ponchatoula, Louisiana 70454, on Saturday, May 16, 2026, from 9:00 am until services begin at11:00 am.

Interment will follow in Sand Hill Cemetery, Ponchatoula, Louisiana.
