Shirley Fleming

Shirley Fleming, age 63, passed away Tuesday, August 24, 2021, at her home in Independence, LA. She was born on November 11, 1957, in New Orleans, LA to the late Mary Ann Marcello and Melvin Marshall.

Shirley is survived by her loving husband of 47 years, Terry Fleming, and three children; Rachel Fleming, Terri Robertson (Larry), and Renee Fleming; grandchildren, Lexie Johnson, Darrian Robertson, Jourdain Robertson, Kaden Robertson, Korbin Bowens, and Braxton Bowens; great grandchild, Mariyah Robertson; brothers, Norby Marcello (Lisa) and David Marcello.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her brother, Louis B Marcello II and granddaughter, Cierra Robertson.

She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She was loved by all who knew her as she never met a stranger. She was known for her quick wit and sharp tongue and the fact that you never had to wonder what was on her mind. She will be missed beyond measure.

There will be no public services held at Shirley’s request. She always said, “If they can’t see me while I’m alive, they surely don’t need to see me when I’m dead!”
