Shirley B. Vinyard

Shirley B. Vinyard was born June 8, 1930, in Ponchatoula, to the late Alcide and Clotilde Boudreaux Bourgeois and passed away in Hammond March 8, 2023.  She was a longtime resident of Hammond.  Shirley was the retired bookkeeper for Vinyard Dairy in Hammond, a charter member of Immanuel Baptist Church,  Women’s Missionary Union, Home Demonstration Club and Garden Club. She is survived by her son, Herbert O. “Herbie” Vinyard, Jr. (Earline); daughters, Beverly Vinyard Price, Yvonne Vinyard Ibert (George), and Ginger Vinyard Hildebrand (Keith); 10 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren; 3 great great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.  In addition to her parents, Shirley is preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Herbert Owen Vinyard, Sr.; son-in-law, Tim Price; 3 brothers, and 4 sisters.  Visitation will be at Immanuel Baptist Church, 1503 Pecan Street, Hammond, 70401, Saturday, March 11, 2023, from 12:00 p.m. until religious services at 2:00 p.m. conducted by Rev. Mark Goree.  Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery, Hammond. In lieu of flowers, please make memorial donations to Immanuel Baptist Church, or to Modern Hospice, 15781 Professional Plaza, Hammond, 70403.
