Shirley Ann Needham Holmes

Shirley Ann Needham Holmes, age 72,of Hammond, Louisiana, passed away on Sunday, May 26, 2019, at Heritage Manor Nursing Home in Hammond. Sadly, we had to say goodbye to a truly remarkable,strong beautiful angel on this earth who gained her Heavenly Angel Wings with her loving family by her side. She was born on Tuesday, September 3, 1946, in Hammond, Louisiana, to Robert Jeremiah, Sr. and Frances Wainwright Needham.  

Shirley Ann Needham Holmes was and will forever be very much loved and cherished by all who knew this precious soul. She inspired and touched so many lives with her love, compassion, godliness and great sense of humor. She always put everyone’s needs before her own and genuinely cared and prayed for all she knew. 

Shirley is survived by her son,Chad Holmes and his wife Mindy, her daughter, Bridget Holmes Milton, her grandchildren, Marley Cousin and her husband Brandon, Lauren Milton, Ryan Milton (Lene), Montana Holmes, Madison Holmes, Wyatt Holmes and Morgan Holmes,her great grandchildren, Myah, Avah, Jude and Everlee, her brothers, Robert "RJ" Needham, Jr. and his wife Janie and Donald Needham, Sr., and his wife Doe, her 1st cousin and her sister from another mother, Tilly Dimaggio, also many nieces nephews and close friends. 

Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, Robert Jeremiah, Sr. and Frances Wainwright Needham. 

A visitation for Shirley will beheld on Saturday, June 1, 2019 from 10:00 am until 1:00 pm at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home in Hammond. A Funeral Service Celebrating Shirley's Life will immediately follow visitation at 1:00 pm in the funeral home chapel. Pastor Dusty Durbin will officiate. Interment will follow at Greenlawn Cemetery in Hammond.
