Sheila Travis DeArmond

Sheila T. DeArmond, age 91, an Amite resident passed away on Friday, January 24, 2025, in Hammond, Louisiana. She was born on November 29, 1933, in Kentwood, Louisiana to the late Susie Force Travis and Theodore "Ted" Travis. Sheila loved to work, even after retirement as a nurse, she found her way back to work to avoid the monotony of retirement. In her free time she loved to travel, her favorite place she visited was France. Sheila also enjoyed shopping, spending time with family and socializing with friends.

She is survived by her son, Edward Charles Faust (JoAnne); as well as numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. 

Preceding her in death were her parents; beloved husband, Earl DeArmond; children, Kathleen Davis and Teddy George Faust; grandchildren, Christina Aymond and Christopher Faust; sisters, Minnie Lou Hutchinson, Bessie Walker, and Elise Daniels; and her brothers, Monroe Travis, Robert Travis, and Frank Travis.

Family and friends are invited to attend Sheila's Funeral Mass on Thursday, January 30, 2025, at Holy Ghost Catholic Church at 11:00 a.m. with visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m. Her grandson, Fr. Augustine DeArmond will be officiating the Mass with interment to follow next to her husband in Ponchatoula Cemetery.
