Shannon Welch Kennedy

Shannon Welch Kennedy, of Albany, Louisiana, passed away at North Oaks Medical Center on Monday, February 8, 2021, at the age of 47. She was born on Sunday, June 3, 1973, in Metairie, Louisiana, the daughter of Richard and Cathy Boyer Welch.

Shannon's fun loving spirit and huge heart for people was apparent in all the ways she lived and enjoyed life. Spending countless hours of quality time with her three daughters, their significant others and her three grandsons,  was by far the most important thing to Shannon in the entire world. Anything from family vacations, to camping trips, to dinners and barbecues, to entire family sleepovers, it didn’t matter what they were doing, as long as she was with all of them and they were doing it together.  As kind-hearted and selfless as Shannon was here on earth, she has proven even more so in her death. Shannon's legacy and spirit will not only live on through her girls and their families, but it will live on through the lives of the recipients and their families, who will now benefit from her unselfish choice of being an organ donor.

Shannon is survived by her spouse, Billy Woessner, daughters & sons-in-law, Breanna and Jordan Jarrell, Logan and Travis Martin, and MaKayla and Cole Holden; grandchildren, Kaysen Jarrell, Kashten Jarrell, and Kestyn Jarrell, brother, Bubba Welch, sisters, Stacey Welch, Brittany Ardeneaux, Natalie Welch, Nicole Welch, and Misty Welch Teel, parents Richard and Cathy Boyer Welch, her grandpuppies and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by the father of her children, Troy Kennedy, daughter, Taylor Welch, and her sister, Christy  Sheridan.

Family and friends will be received at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home in Ponchatoula, 100 W. Magnolia St., Ponchatoula, Louisiana 70454 on Sunday, February 14, 2021 from 11:00 am until 2:00 pm.
