Sarah "Sally" Canale

Sarah "Sally" Canale, 85 years old of Tickfaw, Louisiana, passed away on Sunday, July 22, 2018, at home with her family by her side. She was born on Monday, June 19, 1933, in Independence, Louisiana to Carlo and Lena Pumillia Lapuma. Sally was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend to all she knew. She was a devout Catholic and a member of Our Lady of Pompeii Catholic Church. 

Sally is survived by her loving husband, Charlie Canale, Sr., her son, Charlie Canale, Jr. and his wife Tonia, her daughters, Diane Vaccaro and her husband Jerry, Cathy LeBlanc and her husband Kerry and Rhonda Vaccaro and her husband Todd, her grandchildren, Christopher Vaccaro and his wife Windy, Brian Canale and his wife Melissa, Dea Canale Frederick and her husband Brian, Robert Charles LeBlanc and his wife Rae and Carlie Vaccaro, her great grandchildren, Taylor Hart and her husband Caleb, Brannon Verdin, Chandler Vaccaro, Carter Copsey, Alanna Copsey, Taylor Druery, Tad Druery, Charlie Canale III, Cooper Frederick, Walker Frederick, Jolie Claire LeBlanc and Ezra Jane Hart, her brother, Anthony Lapuma, also many nieces, nephews and close friends. 

Sally is preceded in death by her parents, Carlo and Lena Pumillia Lapuma, her sisters, Dora Lapuma Relan, Rose Lapuma Lucido, Katie Lapuma Giuffria, Margie Lapuma Dilorenzo, Annie Lapuma Dorsa and Lil Annie Lapuma, her brothers, Alex and Peter Lapuma. 

A visitation for Sally will be held on Tuesday, July 24, 2018 from 9:00 am until 10:30 am at Our Lady of Pompeii Catholic Church in Tickfaw where a Rosary will be recited at 10:30am. A Funeral Mass Celebrating Sally's Life will immediately follow the rosary at 11:00am in the church. Interment will follow in the Our Lady of Pompeii Catholic Cemetery in Tickfaw. 

Sally's family wishes all memorial contributions be made to Egan Hospice, 3121 21st Street, Metairie, Louisiana 70002 or Mater Dolorosa Catholic School, 509 Pine St, Independence, LA 70443 in her memory.
