Sara Jane Hack

Sara Jane Hack, of Hammond, Louisiana, passed away at her home on Friday, June 30, 2023, at the age of 80. She was born on Saturday, October 24, 1942, in Lowville, New York, the daughter of the late Donald Kaler Hack Sr. and Shirley Ann Jones Hack. Sara was an unconventional, free-spirit who found it difficult to stay in one place for too long. She was used to picking up and moving from growing up in a military family and eventually joining the Army National Guard herself. Sara became a registered nurse and in her true nature, found being a traveling nurse suited her very well. Through her life she saw the world and met all kinds of people. Sara leaves behind her beloved family and countless good memories.

Sara is survived by her children, Scott Day (Darci), Sean Day, Carrie Marks (Mike), and Cathy Day; grandchildren, Sara B. Naylor, Rebecca M. Bull (Carlton), Melissa S. Day, Justin Day, Stephanie Becker (Jason), Skyler Scott, Kaler Day (Rebecca), Kollin Day (Jocelyn), Brittnay Goz (Bryan), Necia Gravely, and Curtis Gravely; 13 great grandchildren; brother, Donald K. Hack Jr.; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Services will be held at a later date. Family and friends are encouraged to send condolences and share memories online.
