Sandy Ray Blades

Sandy Ray Blades age 74, passed away at his home on Sunday October 29th, 2017.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Emma Pearl and Lavern Blades, two brothers, George Michael and Arthur Lavern Blades and one Grandson, Barry Allen Hirsch. He was married to Betty Lou Tigner for 23 years and is survived by two children. A daughter, Vicki Blades Hirsch and a son Michael Lavern Blades, a brother Randy Wayne Blades and five grandchildren, in addition to his dearest friends, Lucy and Chester Fredrick of Tickfaw.

Sandy was a Veteran of the US Marine Corps (1961-1965) and the US Army Reserve (ret. 1979). He was a member (Chaplain) of American Legion Post 109 in Independence.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a service in the Chapel at McKneely & Sons Funeral Home, 100 W Magnolia St., Ponchatoula, La. 70454 on Saturday 4 November 2017. Visitation will begin at 11 am with a Memorial Service to follow at 1 pm, In lieu of flowers, donations in his name can be made to American Legion Post 109, Independence, La.
