Sandra Ivy Taylor

Sandra Ivy Beckett Taylor, age 84, of Hammond, Louisiana passed away Monday, August 28th, 2023.  Born August 5th, 1939, in Louisville, Kentucky, Sandra was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Dr. Thomas Elliot Taylor, and her son Gregory Allen Taylor. She is survived by her nine children, ten grandchildren, and 7 great-grandchildren.  Sandra lived in Hammond, Louisiana with family members Judge Jeff Cashe, her daughter Sandra Cashe, and her granddaughter Isabelle Cashe.  In her later years, Sandra most enjoyed spending time with her family and going on outings with her son Michael Taylor, also a resident of Hammond. 

With a tremendous spirit of adventure, Sandra lived in states across the U.S. and in both Spain and Mexico. An avid reader and book enthusiast, Sandra was a former bookstore owner and rare book dealer in Rockport, Texas. She enjoyed playing tennis, hosting her book club, cooking, dancing, great conversation, and traveling extensively with her husband, Tom.  Her 84 years were filled with truly unbelievable stories best characterized by her insatiable curiosity and deep love for her family. While Sandra will truly be missed, her warmth, intelligence, gumption, and generosity will be remembered by all who knew her.
