Sandra G. Bernard

Sandra Governale Bernard, of Tickfaw, Louisiana, passed away on Wednesday, January 15, 2025, at the age of 63. She was born on Thursday, December 7, 1961, in Ft. Huachuca, Arizona, the daughter of the late John Governale Jr. and Virginia Musacchia Governale.  

Sandra is survived by her son, Joshua Bernard (Amanda); Stepson, Arthur Ellis "Trey" Bernard, III (Holly) and their children, Wilson and Madelyn; grandchildren, Brody Ellis Bernard and Dawson Kate Bernard; sister, Sharon McDowell (Matt); niece, Heather Price (Tommy), her aunt and Godmother, Frances Banks, and her former daughter in law, Erin Kenney. She is also survived by her precious furbaby, Lulu.  

In addition to her parents, Sandra was preceded in death by her former husband, Arthur Ellis Bernard Jr., uncle, Anthony P. Musacchia Jr., and her grandparents, Angelina Musacchia and Anthony P. Musacchia Sr., and  John Governale Sr. and Rosa M. Governale. 

Family and friends will be received at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home - Hammond, 2000 N. Morrison Blvd, Hammond, Louisiana 70401 on Thursday, January 23, 2025, from 6:00 pm until 9:00 pm. Visitation will continue at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home - Hammond on Friday, January 24, 2025, from 9:00 am until 10:30 am. 

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Our Lady of Pompeii Catholic Church, 14450 Hwy 442, Tickfaw, Louisiana 70466 on Friday at 11:00 am.

 Interment will follow at Our Lady of Pompeii Catholic Cemetery in Tickfaw, Louisiana.
