Sammy Joe Reed

Sammy Joe Reed was born in Tupelo, MS, March 18, 1947, to the late Bobby Joe and Wanda Mills Reed.  He passed away, July 9, 2023, at North Oaks Medical Center in Hammond.  He was a resident of Hammond and a retired Machinist Technician.  A memorial service will be held Monday, July 17, 2023, at 2:00 P.M. at Trinity Baptist Church.  Sammy is survived by his wife of 26 years, Sheila Foster Reed; son, Jason Reed (Sandra); daughter, Stephanie R. Lee (Bubba); step-son, Christopher Rodgers (Cori); grandchildren, Christopher Reed, Matthew Reed, Ashlyn Ballard, Kaitlin Monson, Abigail Rodgers, and Koltlyn Rodgers; great grandchildren, Madisyn Monson and Stetson Ballard; brother, Kenny Reed; and two sisters, Gail Gann and Cheryl Reed.  In addition to his parents, Sammy is preceded in death by his brother, Eddie Reed.
