Sam J. Pecoraro, age 93, of Tickfaw, Louisiana passed away on December 6, 2020 at home with his loving family by his side. He was born on January 30, 1927 in Tickfaw, Louisiana to the late Vincent J. Pecoraro and Frances Reno Graziano Pecoraro. Sam and his wife Yvonne at age 88 celebrated 71 blessed and amazing years of marriage and raised two loving children, Cathy Pecoraro Grace and Johnny Pecoraro. He enjoyed raising his strawberries and making Italian strawberry wine, whom many enjoyed through the years. Sam loved farming and gardening in his fields and always loved fresh vegetables from the garden to the table. His love for his family were his biggest achievements and just like his Sicilian Father and Mother before him, Sam keeps the family tradition of red gravy Sundayâs with loved ones eating lunch together and with the help of his wife keeping the family together. We will miss those red gravy Sundayâs with him, and we will continue those traditions as long as we can. If anything, he taught us, Life goes on as long as you have love in the family.
Sam is survived by his loving wife of 71 years, Yvonne, his 2 children, Cathy Pecoraro Grace, and Johnny Pecoraro, his 2 grandsons, Brad (Brandi) Grace and Bryan Grace, 6 great grandchildren, his 2 brothers, Vincent Pecoraro and Nace (Bonnie) Pecoraro, his 2 sisters, Antoinette (John T.) Dorsa and Angelina (Joe) Arnone, also, numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Sam was preceded in death by his parents, his 3 brothers, Joe Pecoraro, Tony (Jenny) Pecoraro and Angelo (Edith) Pecoraro, his grandson, Brock Grace and his nephews, John Michael Arnone and Brian Dorsa.
