Salvador Phillip LaMonte, of Reserve, Louisiana, passed away at SE Louisiana War Veterans Home on Tuesday, April 30, 2024, at the age of 91. He was born on Saturday, July 2, 1932, in Tickfaw, Louisiana, the son of the late Tony LaMonte and the late Josephine Inzinna LaMonte. Sal was a Corporal in the ARMY, having fought in the Korean War at age 18.
Salvador is survived by his son Michael (Mickey) LaMonte and his wife Elviana, Daughter, Brenda Mumphrey and her husband, Joey; Stepdaughter, Kim Sirone Hurt, and husband Jamie. Grandchildren, Kenneth, Kristina, Nicole, and Stacie; Step Grandchildren; Kody McDonald, Kelsey McDonald; Great-Grandchildren, Olivia, Kaleb, Hannah, Drew, Ryliegh, Brandon, Bradley, Madison, Poppy, Phoebe, and brother Anthony (Tony) LaMonte.

In addition to his parents, Salvador was also preceded in death by his first wife Beaatrice Donagriche LaMonte; and his second wife Mary Grace Traylor LaMonte, and Granddaughter Korie LaMonte Zastrow; and his siblings, Larry LaMonte, Joe LaMonte, Sandra LaMonte Olivia, Mary LaMonte Prine, Francis LaMonte Tortorice.
Family and friends will be received at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home - Hammond, 2000 N. Morrison Blvd, Hammond, Louisiana 70401, on Monday, May 13, 2024 from 9:00 am until 10:30 am.
A Funeral Service will be held at Holy Ghost Catholic Church, 600 North Oak Street, Hammond, Louisiana 70401 on Monday at 11:00 am.
Interment will follow at Our Lady of Pompeii Catholic Cemetery in Tickfaw, Louisiana.
