Sallie Lee Barlow, of Denham Springs, Louisiana, passed away on Thursday, September 11, 2025, at the age of 80. She was born on November 3, 1944, in Hammond, Louisiana, the daughter of the late James Allen Barlow Sr. and Grace McKneely Barlow. A proud alumna of Southeastern Louisiana University, Sallie not only earned a bachelor's degree but also forged lifelong friendships as a dedicated member of the Phi Mu Sorority. Sallie served the state of Louisiana in the Department of Child Support Enforcement where she worked until her retirement. She was an avid member of the African Violet Society of America. Her passion for horticulture shone brightly as she grew countless African Violets. Sallie also enjoyed creative hobbies including sewing, crocheting and making jewelry. Sallie's heart also held a special love for the state of Colorado, where she resided for several years. The natural beauty and serene landscapes of the state resonated deeply with her. As we remember Sallie Lee Barlow, we celebrate a life well-lived-a life characterized by dedication, creativity, and love for her community and family. Her warm spirit and enduring legacy will forever remain in the hearts of those whose lives she touched.
Sallie is survived by her brother, James A. Barlow, Jr. and his wife Corine; niece, Leslie Domangue and her husband Marlon and their sons, Michael and Aaron; as well as numerous cousins.
In addition to her parents, Sallie was preceded in death by her brother, Walter Thomas "Thom" Barlow.
The family would especially like to express their deep appreciation to those with the Hospice of Baton Rouge and her caregivers at Sunrise on Siegen who showed Sallie great care and devotion while under their care.
