Ruth Toney Hernandez

Ruth Toney Hernandez, age 84 of Ponchatoula, Louisiana, passed away on Monday, June 24, 2019, at Landmark Nursing Center of Hammond. She was born on Saturday, June 30, 1934, in Ponchatoula, daughter of the late Worley and Nina Lee Toney.

Ruth is survived by her daughter, Sheila "Cookie" H. Drude, grandchildren, Kellie Drude Bridges, Haley Hernandez, and Donnie Scardino; great-grandchildren, Brody C. Bridges, and Alona N, Augello; and her sister, Rae T. McKenzie.

She was preceded in death by husband of 60 years, Rev. Johnny E. Hernandez; daughter, Johnnie Ruth H. Scardino; and her sisters, Delores T. Perrin, and Louise T. Perrin.

Family and friends will be received at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home in Ponchatoula on Thursday, June 27, 2019 from 9:00 am until 11:00 am.

Services will be held in the funeral home chapel in Ponchatoula, on Thursday, at 11:00 am, with Rev. Jimmy Wall officiating.

Interment will follow at Ponchatoula Cemetery.
